With successive wins in 2020 and 2021, this rodeo has firmly established itself as a crucial stop on the road to the National Finals Rodeo. Behind the scenes, Rodeo Rapid City is put on by Sutton Rodeo of from Onida, SD. As a sixth-generation rodeo company founded in 1926, Sutton Rodeo is renowned for its award-winning PRCA events, earning honors such as Top Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year, Bucking Stock of the Year, and the prestigious Hall of Fame Stock Contractor title for James Sutton, Sr.
Rodeo Rapid City hosts two significant events during this time: the Xtreme Bulls and multiple nights of the PRCA Rodeo.
